our intent
we’ve chosen our name because we have instinctively decided to live our lives and operate our farm according to the earth’s natural cycles.
by observing nature’s signals, we are more in tune with the changing of the seasons, and we can better know where to focus our intent.
we feel the importance of this way of life wholeheartedly. as we settle into a rhythm here at harbinger farm, we’d like to continue to share our explorations with our community, both near and far.
with gratitude,
matt & lucie day
meet the farmers
matt & lucie DAY hail from the east coast—maryland, to be exact. they met while working at a farm-to-table restaurant in baltimore, and EVENTUALLY decided to take a leap of faith and move to the west coast in 2013, without any real plan in mind. it didn’t take long for them to fall in love with the WILD AND rugged left side of the country, where they learned to become stewards of the land THROUGH VARIOUS GROWING EXPERIENCES. THEY SET OUT TO FIND a LITTLE SLICE OF PARADISE TO CALL THEIR OWN AND ENDED UP IN MYRTLE CREEK, OREGON, IN the SPRING OF 2020.
AS THEY CONTINUE TO transform THEIR PROPERTY INTO a PERMACULTURE-MINDED, FOOD-GROWING SPACE, THEY aim TO PROVIDE THEIR COMMUNITY WITH A RELIABLE SOURCE OF FRESH PRODUCE—WITH ONLY ORGANIC INPUTS, OF COURSE. FOLLOW THIS PAIR ON THEIR FARMING VENTURES, AND be sure to hang on tight through all the bumps and brambles!
